About Us

Pertubuhan Mencegah Alienasi Keibubapaan Kuala Lumpur & Selangor (PEMALIK) also known as the Association Against Parental Alienation was founded by a group of people who have come to recognise the seriousness of parental alienation and its effects on children.

It is a Non-Political, Non-Religious, Non- Gender Biased & Non-Profit oriented organisation open to members in the Malaysian community.

The Purpose

The purpose of this association is to create an awareness of "Parental Alienation". This is common amongst couples who are having family problems and also amongst those who are having custody, divorce disputes in court.

What happens generally is that the tendency of one parent to alienate the other from having any association with their children. This is done in many ways, some aggressively, others tacitly.

Aggressive methods of parental alienation occurs, where one parent expressly disallows the other parent from communicating with their children. The alienated parent is not able to talk to the child, see the child in school, participate in school activities with his/her children.

This is done when the dominant parent influences the child negatively about the other parent consciously or subconsciously. Further the dominant parent assures the child that it is alright for the child to ignore other parent.
